WebAccess Chinese version presented
at Advantech China Partners Conference in Beijing

A powerful HMI and SCADA software package that allows remote engineering and remote technical support using an ordinary web browser on a desktop, laptop, PDA or handheld computer.

November 30, 2001 -
Advantech China Partners Conference
Beijing, China
(P.R.O.C.)

Broadwin Technology Inc. presented  WebAccess 2.1 Chinese language version for the greater China market of Mainland China.

WebAccess is the first fully web browser-based HMI and SCADA software for industrial automation.  WebAccess allows remote engineering and remote technical support using an ordinary web browser on a desktop, laptop, PDA or handheld computer.

Chaney Ho, General Manager of Advantech Asia, Industrial Automation Group stated:  “Advantech's ePlatform business strategies  concentrate on providing leading-edge web-based automation technology to it's customers. Advantech and Broadwin share similar business strategies for our customers in Greater China. Advantech and Broadwin  offer competitive software solutions for manufacturing and automation solutions, which will enable a faster time to market and result in better business for Advantech customers."

Steven Chiang, General Manager of Broadwin Technology (Shanghai), Inc. stated: "WebAccess provides unprecedented value to our customers in China.   It is an easy-to-use and powerful software package in the Chinese language.  The run-time version can be used as a stand-alone HMI while at the same time allowing remote software configuration by engineers over an intranet, Internet or dial-up connection.  For the rapidly expanding automation market in greater China, WebAccess provides the best of all possible solutions.”

“Broadwin provides leading-edge web-based automation technology to it's customers, which can be combined with traditional automation technology, already in place." said Frank Lin, president of Broadwin Technology Inc.  "WebAccess will allow the China market to add leading-edge web technology, especially remote engineering and remote software support, to existing automation technology."

Using a standard Web-Browser, users can view and control automation equipment used in manufacturing facilities, industrial process plants and building automation systems. Unique to WebAccess, all configuration and deployment can be performed remotely through a standard web browser including IO configuration, graphics building and remote software administration. WebAccess enables OEMs, System Integrators and Equipment Manufactures to provide a complete "eDiagnostic" solution for their customers.

WebAccess is available for desktop computers, laptops, handhelds and PDAs running any Microsoft 32-bit operating system including Windows CE, 98, ME, 2000, 2003, XP Home and XP Professional. WebAccess 2.1 provides customers with unprecedented browser-based access to industrial control and building automation applications.  WebAccess is available in multiple language versions including English, Japanese, simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese. Internet Explorer 6.0 supports all features of WebAccess.
